“Santa Maria has given us something we never had…a place to call home.”
-Tamara and Melody
To qualify for Santa Maria’s Recovery Housing program, you must be a woman between 18 and 25 (or a woman with children) and be in recovery from substance use. Those participating in the Recovery Housing Emerging Adults program engage in a peer oriented community by building strong connections with each other, while holding each other accountable. The program promotes long term recovery by providing a safe, sober living environment, using a social model of recovery, focusing on increasing a participant’s Recovery Capital, those personal, interpersonal and community resources that can be drawn upon to sustain addiction recovery.
Those participating receive access to a full continuum of care and recovery support services to move the participant beyond barriers and struggles that accompany substance use disorder and promote opportunities for self-sufficiency, linking residents to healthcare, mental health care, case management, educational and occupational support services, and providing housing support with the eventual goal of securing permanent housing.
The only time limit for a resident to stay is whether the funding lasts.
