We want to celebrate some very special people that remembered us for the Easter holiday! Their generosity and giving spirit lit up our days with goodies for our clients and their kids…
Cindy Schoeller – Discovery Toys Team Leader
Cindy was determined to create a basket full of goodies for every child at Bonita House. Filled with educational toys and books from her business, each basket was put together lovingly and individually based on age and gender from the 60 under one year olds to the oldest child at 15! She made 108 in all, delivered with a mask and gloves…nothing about the challenge stopped her! She worked with her loyal customers to raise the money and even a local dental supply to include toothbrushes, coloring books on dental health and toothpaste (along with the candy). We hope this is the beginning of a great new relationship with her…and we can only say a HIPPITY HOPPITY THANKS to our favorite Easter bunny helper.
Nicole Serle and The Lellow Foundation
With a dedicated mission to support economically disadvantaged children with special needs, Nicole learned of Santa Maria and knew we had kids on campus who could benefit from her agency’s bounty. Just before Easter, she delivered a big load of books for our families to share. Nicole’s uncle, the inspiration for her organization, had Down Syndrome and his favorite color was “lellow”, so therefore the name! We appreciate this first-time connection with an inspired young woman making a difference.
Janna Roberson and Urban Harvest
Fresh spring vegetables arrived just in time for Easter dinner from Janna Roberson, CEO of Urban Harvest! The amazing boxes of produce were so wonderful to add to our pantry staples! The kitchen prepared a traditional Sunday dinner of roasted ham and turkey, fresh green beans, spring salad, homemade dressing and of course, the crowd favorite, mac and cheese. The fresh vegetables made the meal a delight for all! Urban Harvest is a nonprofit organization that enriches the Houston community by providing 135 community gardens, farmers markets, gardening classes and youth education. We are so grateful for their continued support.
