Celebrating Women's History Month

March is Women's History Month, a time to recognize and honor the incredible contributions of women throughout history. At Santa Maria Hostel, we are committed to empowering women by providing support, resources, and encouragement. From trailblazers like Sojourner Truth and Malala Yousafzai to the everyday heroines in our own lives, women continue to shape and inspire our world.

This month, we encourage everyone to take a moment to acknowledge the strong women in your life. Whether they are coworkers, friends, family members, or clients, let’s uplift and celebrate their resilience, achievements, and impact.

Encouragement for Our Staff

As we step into a new month, we want to take a moment to acknowledge the dedication and heart each of you brings to our mission. Your work changes lives, and your compassion creates a ripple effect that extends far beyond what you see every day.

Remember: "Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." – Helen Keller

Thank you for your commitment to making a difference. We see you, we appreciate you, and we are grateful for you.

Spring Into Wellness

With the arrival of spring, it’s a great time to refresh and rejuvenate! Here are a few tips to boost your well-being this season:

- Take a walk outside and soak in the sunshine.

- Hydrate and nourish your body with seasonal fruits and veggies.

- Practice mindfulness and gratitude daily.

- Organize your workspace for a fresh start.

Community Spotlight: Women Who Inspire

We want to highlight a woman in our community who embodies resilience and strength. Do you know someone who deserves recognition? Nominate a coworker, emailing us at socialcommittee25@santamariahostel.org.

STAFF  SPOTLIGHT

This month, we’re recognizing team members who exemplify our core values. Nominate your colleagues by April 10th!

Join the United Way Campaign!

On Monday,  March 17 we kicked off the SM United Way Giving Campaign. We had a visit from a United Way representative at both Bonita and Jacquelyn campuses.

We are  grateful for the incredible support we receive from United Way, and now we have the chance to give back!

We invite our staff to join the Santa Maria United Way Campaign—any amount, big or small, makes a difference.

You can choose a one-time donation or a monthly contribution through payroll deduction.

Forms to authorize accounting to deduct your donation through payroll are available in the lobby at Bonita  and Jacquelyn House.

Let’s come together to support the campaign and continue making an impact!
