Dear Santa Maria Team,
We have some exciting news to share with all of you: Santa Maria is proud to partner with The WORTH Program (Women-serving Organizations Rallying for Tobacco-Free Health). This collaboration, led by The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and supported by the Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas, will allow us to take a significant step in creating healthier and safer environments for the women we serve, their families, and, of course, our team.
The goal of the program is clear: to reduce the impact of tobacco use in the lives of our communities. We know that quitting tobacco isn’t easy; many women face significant barriers—from economic challenges and mental health struggles to histories of trauma and violence. This partnership will provide us with top-tier resources and training to support those who want to quit, always in a non-judgmental and compassionate way.
The best part is that The WORTH Program will work directly with us to tailor each component to our organization’s needs and capacity. From developing tobacco-free workplace policies, training our staff, to offering practical interventions like educational materials, support tools, and nicotine replacement therapies, every step is designed to create a real and sustainable impact. Additionally, the program includes monitoring and evaluation so we can measure progress and continuously improve.
This is a unique opportunity to strengthen our commitment to the health and well-being of our community. We are confident that, as always, the spirit of teamwork and dedication that defines Santa Maria will make this program a success. Let’s move forward with enthusiasm and determination to create an environment where all women can thrive.
Thank you for being part of this important change! Santa Maria Leadership Team |

Celebrating the Season of Joy, Unity, and Reflection As we approach the end of the year, we are reminded of the beauty and diversity of the holiday season. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or simply the joy of togetherness, this is a time to reflect on the year behind us, connect with loved ones, and look forward to the possibilities ahead.
The holidays offer us a chance to pause and celebrate what truly matters—family, community, and gratitude. We encourage everyone to take time to embrace your traditions, share moments of kindness, and create lasting memories. Let’s also take a moment to appreciate the unique backgrounds and celebrations that make our workplace such a vibrant community.
No matter how you choose to celebrate, may this season bring you peace, joy, and warmth. Thank you for the energy, dedication, and heart you bring to our team every day. Wishing you all a safe and happy holiday season! |
