Church In The City -

Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church

“Church In The City” (CITC) is a Sunday, when members of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church (MDPC) leave the pews and volunteer throughout our Houston community.

Santa Maria was honored to host more than 120 MDPC members for the 2nd consecutive year at our Bonita House campus on Parker Road.

For this day of service, volunteers of all ages divided into various  projects to upgrade and maintain Santa Maria's campus, where we host our women with children programs.

In just four hours many projects were successfully completed, including arts and crafts activities, gardening, decorating, painting and wood working. We enjoyed having MDPC members on campus and brighten our day with their warm hearts and generosity. 

Thank you team leaders Christine Gentil and Julie LaRue for coordinating and executing all the many different projects requiring additional time and planning before the big day.  Thank you MDPC!  

Sober Chilli Cookoff

The 3rd Annual Sober Chili Cookoff this past Saturday March 2nd, was a blast. Santa Maria was represented by two teams, the STARS (Sex Trafficking Survivors Achieve Recovery and Stability) Program team and the PAC (Peer Advisory Council of Santa Maria) team. Even tough our teams did not win the competition this year, they showed up, ran out of chili, and danced the day away. We are so proud of them!

RISE Picnic For Recovery

Santa Maria is honored to celebrate the thousands of women and families whose lives have been transformed by the recovery treatment and supportive services they receive.  The RISE Picnic for Recovery fundraiser is essential to fulfilling this important mission.
