The mission of Santa Maria is to empower women and their families to lead healthy, successful, productive, and self-fulfilling lives

Houston Endowment granted Santa Maria $200,000 for restoration and renovation on the 46 year old Jacquelyn facility, home of residential services for single women ranging from treatment to supportive housing, to specialized housing and services for female veterans.
This grant enabled Santa Maria to replace the aging concrete courtyard and walkways, repair and paint the exterior, install new windows on two buildings, install 10, 2 ton AC units, install a digital security system, install additional security lighting, and resurface the main parking lot.
Sincere thanks go to Houston Endowment for improving the safety and security of our clients and staff and improving the energy efficiency of the systems and buildings at Santa Maria’s Jacquelyn facility.
Huge appreciation to HomeAid Houston for the following projects at our residential facilities. HomeAid has more upcoming projects for Santa Maria.
HomeAid Houston, Bank of America and United Way of Greater Houston were a formidable team of volunteers that painted five apartments, three offices and a public restroom at Santa Maria's Bonita House recently.
Santa Maria Hostel rebuilds kitchen with help from Chapelwood Foundation. Kitchen is now a spacious, refreshing environment for women to meet and socialize.
The Houston Chronicle recently featured, BAMBI - the Texas Department of Criminal Justice's Baby and Mother Bonding Initiative, which is operated by Santa Maria. BAMBI gives state jail inmates the chance to "live and bond with their newborns."
R. Kelly Plato of NGP Capital Resources Company joined the Board of Directors of Santa Maria Hostel.
Douglas Hidalgo of LaPorte Sehrt Romig Hand Certified Public Accountants chairs the Santa Maria Board.
